Folk and country music have long had a bad press in France.
Our country has not always grasped the value and richness of a genre straight out of American culture, of which we have too often known only more or less successful ersatz.
It is difficult to adapt these aesthetics to our heritage without falling into often embarrassing clichés and decorum.
