Inflation makes everyday life more expensive.

Price increases are also expected soon for hairdressers, which can be attributed to rising energy costs.

Kassel – Since Russia invaded Ukraine, prices for various products have been rising.

These include not only groceries such as butter, meat and cooking oil, but also gas and oil prices, which have risen enormously since the beginning of the Ukraine war.

According to the Federal Statistical Office, the inflation rate in April 2022 was 7.4 percent more than a year ago.

It "reached a new record high in unified Germany for the second month in a row," says Dr.

Georg Thiel, President of the Federal Statistical Office.

The current price increases will probably not stay the same.

Consumers also face higher costs in other parts of everyday life, for example when visiting the hairdresser.

The state guild for hairdressers and cosmetics Saarland, for example, speaks of more than 100 euros for a men's haircut, reports the Saarbrücker Zeitung.

In other federal states, however, the expected increase is lower, reports the editorial network Germany (RND).

Price increases for men's haircuts: Inflation affects hairdressers too

However, there is no way around price increases for haircuts, explains Jörg Müller in an interview with RND.

"There will be an increase, the hairdressing companies are forced to adjust the prices," says the general manager of the Central Association of the German Hairdressing Trade.

Exactly how high the increase will be remains unclear for the time being.

Müller doesn't want to make any firm statements either: "I can't make any predictions as far as men's haircuts are concerned.

But it could be price increases in the double-digit percentage range.”

The most obvious reason for the price increase is the Ukraine conflict and the resulting higher energy costs, which also affect all hairdressing shops, reports Focus Online.

In addition, the increase in the minimum wage to 10.45 euros from July 1, 2022 will mean higher costs for a haircut.
