Are you one of those people who prefer to bathe or shower?
One type of body care consumes a lot of water and electricity.
On average, Germans use 44 liters of water a day for personal hygiene.
That sounds like a lot - especially since the costs for water and energy have risen enormously in recent months.
Many are wondering how they can save more water - when showering or bathing?

If you shower sparingly, you use less water than with a full bath
If you like to take a long shower, you might think that a full bath might use less water.
Especially since a lot of cool water runs down the drain when you shower.
This may also apply in individual cases.
In fact, the opposite is usually the case: "While a full bath requires around 150 liters of water, a
maximum of 50 liters is used for an economical five-minute shower
," according to a statement from the social welfare office in Nuremberg.
You can easily calculate your actual water consumption when showering yourself.
Added to this are the electricity costs that such a full bath requires for hot water preparation.
“The costs are highest for electric water heating.
A
full bath requires so much electricity that you could watch TV for 120 hours,
” the office calculates.
Showering instead of bathing saves up to 100 euros a year
If you change your personal hygiene habits, you can save a lot of money here.
If you shower about twice a week instead of bathing, you save
between 45 euros and 100 euros a year
, depending on the type of water heating (electric, gas or central heating) .
