The number of children and young people who have fled Ukraine and are attending schools in Germany has continued to rise.
Last week, 113,584 Ukrainian students attended classes in Germany, over 7,700 more than a week earlier.
This emerges from data from the Conference of Ministers of Education (KMK), which were published on Tuesday.
Four federal states each recorded five-digit numbers of students from Ukraine: Bavaria (22,301), North Rhine-Westphalia (20,362), Baden-Württemberg (16,316) and Lower Saxony (11,038) have reported the most admissions so far.
In mid-April, KMK President Karin Prien (CDU) mentioned a possible number of up to 400,000 refugee children and young people who might have to be integrated into the classroom in the coming weeks and months.
A total of around eleven million schoolchildren are taught in Germany.
