The number of unemployed persons as defined by the ILO fell by 18,000 in the first quarter of 2022, to reach 2.23 million, a drop of 0.1 point over three months to 7.3% of the active population, according to data published this week. Tuesday by INSEE.
This result sounds like a slowdown in the continuous decline since 2015 of the unemployment rate - if we hide the rise above 9% observed in the 3rd quarter of 2020 just after the first confinement of the economy.
Over one year, however, the decline reached 0.8 points and the tricolor unemployment rate, at the end of March, was 0.9 points below its pre-crisis level, at its lowest level since 2008.
