The police stopped a van loaded with drugs worth millions on the German-Dutch border.
According to the police, a cross-border team found 11.62 kilograms of cocaine, 10,000 LSD trips, 11.84 kilograms of methamphetamine, 10 kilograms of crystal meth and 10.72 kilograms of a “brown hard substance” in the car of a 58-year-old driver from the Netherlands.
"The street value of the drugs is 1.8 million euros," according to the police.
The officers stopped the man on Autobahn 3 near Hamminkeln on Tuesday afternoon.
He stated that he was traveling to Düsseldorf for professional reasons.
During the check, the officials said they discovered "irregularities" on the floor of the trunk.
These turned out to be professional drug hiding places that were subsequently installed.
The police then temporarily arrested the Dutchman.
The customs investigation office takes over the further investigations.
