Bison futé, the service in charge of traffic monitoring in France, gives its road occupancy forecasts* for the summer holiday period in July and August.
The organization warns against five black weekends, that is to say with “extremely difficult” traffic conditions.
Each time it is the direction of the departures which is concerned.
This is Saturday July 9 in Auvergne - Rhône-Alpes and Saturday July 23, again in Auvergne - Rhône-Alpes.
Saturday, July 30, the moment of the crossover between Julyists and Augustians, is classified as black throughout the country.
Saturdays August 6 and August 13 are also concerned, still in the same region, but also along the “Mediterranean arc”.
Black also next week
In addition to these most complicated moments, all weekends in July and August are affected with at least one day, or even three, of red traffic, i.e. “very difficult”.
Excluding July and August, black is also expected on Sunday, May 29 in the direction of returns, nationwide, at the end of the long Ascension weekend.
At the start of this weekend, Wednesday May 25 and Thursday May 26, traffic is expected to be level red, in the direction of departures, across the country.
In June, Smart Bison also foresees difficulties during the Pentecost weekend between Friday 3 and Monday 6, the densest moments being expected on Friday at the national level, in the direction of departures, classified red, and on Mondays, in Île-de-France, in the direction of returns.
