Maye Musk is one of four women on the new cover of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue.
This makes the 74-year-old the oldest model to make the cover of the famous magazine.
"I'm really looking forward to showing people that women in their 70s are beautiful," Musk said in a video.
If she had even thought about modeling for the magazine earlier, "I would have been locked away as a crazy person," said the mother of Tesla founder and multi-billionaire Elon Musk, who is currently making headlines with a Twitter purchase attempt.
In addition to Maye Musk, other magazine covers also feature reality star Kim Kardashian, singer Ciara and fashion entrepreneur Yumi Nu.
The issue will be published on May 19th.
"In this issue, we encourage readers to see the models as we see them: diverse, multi-talented — and sexy," said Editor-in-Chief MJ Day.
"The world may label them, but we want to focus on how they see themselves and how they feel about who they are."

The fact that there are several cover women is not new: last year, tennis player Naomi Osaka, rapper Megan Thee Stallion and Leyna Bloom, a transgender woman, graced the cover of the magazine for the first time.
Even then, Day had emphasized more diversity, "each of them reminds us that beauty comes in many forms," she had said.
The Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue has been published since 1964.
The magazine has promoted numerous careers, including those of Heidi Klum and Kate Upton.
However, the cover also repeatedly caused criticism because it standardized female beauty.
Last year, the Washington Post commented that the models are now diverse, but the poses are not.
This would imply that every woman in a bathing suit is an object of desire.
