Sometimes a job advertisement not only says something about the advertised job, but also about the employer.

Experts reveal what you should pay attention to.

If you are looking for a job, you first have to sift through a large number of job advertisements.

These reveal a lot about what tasks you would have to take on in a new company - but sometimes they also reveal where difficulties are to be expected.

Career coach Keirsten Greggs told

Business

Insider two red flags that job seekers should look out for when posting job ads.

Applicant must have many qualifications

Are you reading a job advertisement and have the feeling that the

list of requirements and desired qualifications is almost endless

?

That could be a sign that the employer doesn't know what they're looking for themselves, as Greggs says: "If the list of requirements they want is very long, it means they just wrote down everything that came to their mind, um to take it back afterwards if necessary.”

Tasks that are not clearly defined can

sometimes be nerve-wracking for an applicant – how can you meet the expectations of an employer who doesn’t know what he or she wants?

If you are more of a fan of clear structures and good organization, this could be the moment to put the job advert on the back burner.

Whether a new job involves too much workload for you can perhaps be read from the job advertisement.

These phrases could indicate a toxic work environment

A lot of work, high expectations, but few benefits - this is often the recipe for a dissatisfied employee.

Sometimes the

demanding mentality

in companies can even increase the

risk of burnout

among employees.

According to expert Katrina Kibben, who helps companies write job advertisements, job seekers should therefore pay attention to the phrase

"fast-moving industry"

: "Between the lines it can also mean that another person did not cope with the task field and instead of meeting the requirements lowering, the company has conveyed to this person that they are not suitable for the job.”

However, Greggs also appeases that not every choice of words should be weighed on the gold scales.

“It's good to be on the lookout for warning signs.

But that doesn't mean that you should exclude an employer directly because of a single wording in the job advertisement." Some job advertisements are also just not well done.
