WhatsApp is working on a new feature that will allow users to "silently" leave the group chats they are part of, without notifying all members with a notification.
The news comes from the Wabetainfo site, which has identified the novelty within the code of WhatsApp Desktop, the version of the client for computers.
According to sources, the same option, when released, will also be made available on iPhone and Android.
At present, when someone leaves a group chat, WhatsApp notifies all participants of their departure, creating many problems or embarrassments.
WhatsApp allows up to 256 people to join a single chat group, which can lead to many distractions in the event of incoming and outgoing conversations, with related notifications.
To improve the situation, the feature discovered by Wabetainfo allows you to leave the group chat so that only administrators are aware of the operation.
In fact, from a screen shared online reads "Only you and the group administrators will receive a notification that you have left the group".
Another feature currently not released even in trial, always found by Wabetainfo, shows the possibility of viewing the previews of the web addresses included in the status updates.
Sharing a link in a status update currently only displays the link, while you should see a preview of the site soon, giving users an idea of the expected content if they visit the webpage.
The latest major update to WhatsApp introduced emoji reactions to messages and larger file transfers among subscribers in early May.
