A 68-year-old cyclist was fatally injured by a falling branch in Baden-Württemberg.
A heavy branch broke off a poplar tree and fell down.
The branch hit the 68-year-old, who was driving under the tree, on the head, the police said.
The accident happened on Wednesday in the district of Konstanz.
The man's wife, who was with him on the bike path, suffered a shock.
There was no storm at the site shortly before or during the accident.
The tree had been examined and there was no evidence that third parties were at fault, according to investigators.
