In Germany, around six million people have a 450-euro job.
From the registration to the earnings limit, there are a few things to consider.
Increase in the earnings limit for a mini-job from October 1st
To the
On July 1, 2022, the
minimum wage
will increase to EUR 10.45 per hour as scheduled.
An increase in the statutory minimum wage to 12 euros is also planned for October 1, 2022.
Anyone who works full-time for the minimum wage has so far earned around 1,700 euros gross and after the increase around 2,100 euros, as Federal Labor Minister Hubertus Heil (SPD) said during the first reading of his bill in the Bundestag at the end of April.
The
upper earnings limit for mini-jobs
will also be raised from 450 to 520 euros from October 2022 - from October 1st, monthly earnings up to the new limit for employees will remain tax and social security-free.
From October 1st, the planned mini-job limit should be based on a weekly working time of ten hours at minimum wage conditions
.
Health insurance information
As of this year, employers must state the
health insurance of short-term employees
when registering for social security.
"Evidence can be, for example, a certificate from the statutory health insurance company or the employee's private health insurance company, but also a copy of the insurance card," wrote the Minijob-Zentrale in a blog post.
Feedback from the mini job center
Also since this year, after
registering a short-term mini-jobber
, employers have received feedback from the mini-job center as to whether the employee has already taken up short-term employment in the same calendar year.
These
pre
-employment periods are important for employers – as short-term employment is limited to a maximum of three months or 70 working days per year.
"However, this notification only contains the information as to whether previous employment periods exist, but not to what extent," said the mini-job center.
Employees must ask about the latter.
Reporting the tax ID of commercial mini-jobbers
Since this year, employers have had to electronically
transmit the
tax identification number
of commercial mini-jobbers to the
mini-job center
– in addition to the tax number .
The eleven-digit number remains permanently valid.
It can be found, for example, on the last tax assessment notice.
Mini-jobbers: who is entitled to the energy flat-rate?
As
mini-jobbers
, for example, students can also
hope for the announced
energy flat-rate this year.
Because according to the government draft, as
n-tv.de
reported on the subject, “all marginal part-time employees this year will benefit from the energy price flat rate – both the 450-euro mini-jobbers and short-term (marginal) employees – regardless of the exact type of Taxation.” Interested parties can find out more about this here.
