(ANSA) - MOSCOW, MAY 19 - A total of 1,730 Ukrainian soldiers who were barricaded in the Azovstal steel plant in Mariupol have surrendered since last Monday, according to what the Russian Defense Ministry quoted by Interfax said today, adding that at least 80 of them are wounded.
Among those who surrendered there would also be the deputy commander and spokesman of the Azov Regiment, Svyatoslav Palamar (Kalina), who allegedly left the steelworks' basement in the evening, according to Russian pro-government Telegram channels, which report the words of a reporter sent to the front, Dmitry Steshin , but underlining that there are no other confirmations for now.
