Tomorrow a new production of the play "The Death of an Agent," by Arthur Miller, will take the stage of the Cameri Theater.
The play, which has already become a modern classic, deals with a sales agent who is fired from his job, while his two sons turn out to be a failure.
The play was translated by Dori Perens and directed by Yair Sherman.
Starring Rami Baruch, Laura Rivlin / Helena Yarlova, Nadav Knights, Dor Harari, Yitzhak Hezekiah, Shmuel Vilozny and many more.
Knights, 39, plays Beef, Willie's eldest son.
"He's a man who didn't live up to expectations," Knights says.
"He's in his late 30s, with no resume and feels lost."
This is a play that has been performed in Israel quite a few times. What's new about uploading it again?
"That's a good question. I think in the case of Arthur Miller, unlike Shakespeare's or Chekhov's classics, you can not really take the play to far-flung places or to far-reaching interpretations. The novelty is in the nuances, in the emphasis the director brings. The material speaks for itself. "He's what holds here. That's what's beautiful and timeless."
Knights is currently juggling between five different plays at the Cameri, including "Love and the Plague," "A Night in Paris," "Peter Pan" and "The Grandson."
And although he is a very prominent actor in the theater, he seems to have gained the most recognition thanks to roles in series such as "For Her Flying Heroes," "The Day the Earth Shook" and "Dumb."
"I haven't auditioned for a series or a movie in two years," he admits, "somehow I avoid it. I believe it will come back sometime because it becomes an anxiety I do not want to deal with."
