(ANSA) - CANNES, MAY 19 - Omar Sy is a black and good giant, they cheer him on the street, in the hall the applause is rhythmic.

It is an incredible example of how things can take right paths and how a child of the banlieue can win his battle by betting on his talent.

In France he is an example and not only there.

In Cannes he brought TIRAILLEURS (Father & Soldier), a story of paternity that reconstructs the contribution of the Senegalese shooters to France in the First World War.

Directed by Mathieu Vadepied, Omar Sy interpreted and produced it and opened the Un Certain Regard competition with Valeria Golino as jury president to applause.

He played in UsaX-Men: Days of Future Past, the Jurassic World franchise and Transformers: The Last Knight among others,

but it is the French Netflix series LUPINE that has given the 44-year-old actor the definitive appeal with new generations of viewers.

Nominated for the Golden Globe, the actor became the first French talent to sign a multi-year contract with Netflix and is now shooting season three in Paris.

"I can't reveal anything, but we'll be back with the same energy and fun," he told Deadline.

"I would like to do it for the rest of my life. I wish we could. But it will depend on what story we can tell and where the character can go. If we will have the right script, we will continue," she added.
