A photo contest arrives to tell the story of the great beauty in the world of energy.
Terna presented the “Driving Energy 2022 Award - Contemporary Photography”, which received the Medal of the President of the Republic, and will culminate in an exhibition in November at Palazzo delle Esposizioni, in Rome, and in a book.
The goal indicated by the curator Marco Delogu is to "build an important chapter of photography in Italy over the years", an award that represents a turning point in the career of the winners.
The theme of the first edition is “Cameras on Driving Energy". "Our task is to accompany the country in the energy transition.
We do it with great passion, with great efforts and investments and we want to enhance the centrality of energy in the present and in the future of the country, also in an artistic sense.
To make people understand how there is great beauty inside this apparently technical element, that of energy, "says Terna's CEO, Stefano Donnarumma, at the presentation of the award at the Parco della Musica auditorium.
There will be five winners of the competition in the categories: Senior, which will win a prize of 15,000 euros, Young, with a prize of 5,000 euros, and three Special Mentions, with prizes of 2,000 euros.
The jury is made up of Salvatore Settis, Lorenza Bravetta, Elisa Medde, Emanuele Trevi and Massimiliano Paolucci.
They will be joined by a sixth personality that will be unveiled on May 30th.
The six jurors will be supported not only by the curator, but also by the presidential committee of the award, composed of Valentina Bosetti and Stefano Donnarumma, respectively president and CEO of Terna.
In addition, other itinerant exhibitions will be able to follow the exhibition in Rome.

Daughters of the same industrial revolution, they were fundamental for the birth and evolution of today's world ", says Marco Delogu." Photography is the mother of all contemporary languages that are based on technical reproducibility.
The transmission of electricity is, in every sector of our lives, the mother of the technological solutions on which contemporaneity is founded.
For this reason - continues Delogu - the dialogue between Terna and photographic art began naturally and we wanted it to culminate in this Award, which also has the aim of building an important chapter in photography in Italy over the years ".
