Young women pick the plant that looks like a male myo (SOCIAL MEDIA)
The Cambodian Ministry of the Environment issued a warning last Wednesday after they were exposed to a viral video in which a number of women are seen picking plants that resemble a male genitalia in appearance.
The government is urging citizens to stop picking the “penis plants” known as Nepenthes holdnii on the grounds that they are endangered.
Nepenthes holdnii is a tropical carnivorous plant commonly found in the mountainous regions of western Cambodia.
The "penis plant," so named because of its resemblance to an upright human phallus, has long since become a protected species (you understand?).
In recent years, however, locals and tourists have been picking the plants, taking pictures with them and sharing amusing photos and water on Twitter and Instagram.

The video worried officials, as the office's interns stated: "What the women in the video are doing is really wrong. Do not do it again in the future! Thank you for your love of natural resources, but do not pick, or nature will be destroyed!".
In the viral video that prompted the call from the Cambodian government, three women are seen picking and playing with some of the endangered plants.
The video was reportedly filmed on Mount Bokor in Kampot County.
In the one-minute video, the group of women is heard screaming with pleasure at the sight of the coarse plant.
One woman is seen smiling as she holds two of the phallic plants in her hands and rages in front of the camera.
Her friend is seen holding a handful of plants, seemingly impressed by the bouquet she received.
The video ends when one picks up a miniature plant and has fun with the small penis.
Her friend enters the frame and reacts with contempt, when she too is not impressed by the small size of the plant.
No formal complaint was filed against the women who participated in the video.
Allowed to look, no to touch:
Nepenthes holdnii is not the only rare plant in the form of a male genitalia that has made headlines in the last year.
Last October, for the first time in almost 25 years, a two-meter-tall plant in Europe also became known as the "penis plant", or its official name - amorphophallus decus-silvae.
The impressive plant - which looks like an erect genitalia - bloomed in Hortus Botanicus in the Netherlands, as crowds flocked to the site to document the hysterical phenomenon.
It was also called the "penis plant":
