The latest rumors suggest that The Last of Us remake for the PlayStation 5 will be released sooner than many expected.
Rumors have been circulating for a long time that the development studio Naughty Dog is working on a remake of the first "The Last of Us".
The remake is said to be designed specifically for the PlayStation 5 to take advantage of the console's more powerful hardware.
Neither Naughty Dog nor Sony have officially confirmed work on the remake.
But according to an industry insider, the release is imminent.
According to insiders, "The Last of Us" remake is coming in 2023.
Industry insider Jeff Grubb revealed on the Kinda Funny Gamescast that he's heard The Last of Us remake is coming in 2023.
"I keep hearing it's coming out this year,"
Grubb said.

Grubb points out that it's been nearly two years since the release of the sequel, The Last of Us 2.
In the meantime, the developers have been working on the new edition of the first part and the effort for this was limited, since it was only an update of an old title.
He also describes the development studio as an “efficient, well-oiled machine” and the employees have mastered such challenges with flying colors in the past.
In the podcast, Grubb and his interlocutors also discuss the planned HBO series The Last of Us, in which Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey will star.
The series adaptation won't debut until 2023, but Grubb says it makes sense to release the remake this year.
Because that would give you two dates
when the demand is very high and, accordingly, the sales figures for the game
: one for the release of the game and the other for the broadcast of the series.
He cites The Witcher 3 as an example, where sales skyrocketed thanks to the Netflix series, even though the game was four years old when it premiered.
The same can therefore be expected with the remake of The Last of Us, assuming the HBO series is a success.

It is therefore to be expected that Naughty Dog will officially unveil The Last of Us remake in the coming months.
