For the first time in the history of the World Cup, three female referees, and as many linesmen, have been selected in the list of referees for Qatar 2022.
In particular, among the 36 referees chosen by the FIFA referees committee, chaired by Pierluigi Collina , there are the French Stephanie Frappart - already at Euro 2020 -, the Rwandan Salima Mukansanga and the Japanese Yoshimi Yamashita;
among the 69 assistants are Neuza Back (Brazil), Karen Díaz Medina (Mexico) and Kathryn Nesbitt (USA).
Italy is represented by Daniele Orsato, assistant Alessandro Giallatini, Var staff Massimiliano Irrati and Paolo Valeri
