Abandoned and tied up: Dog with a sad history finds a happy ending

A dog is found abandoned by a fire hydrant with a backpack and a heartbreaking note.

Now she has a new home.

Green Bay (Wisconsin) - About two weeks ago, Kyle Rose Engelhardt discovered a dog in her neighborhood all alone on a grass verge next to the road.

She is tied to the hydrant, next to her is a backpack full of supplies and dog toys.

At first the woman thinks the bitch is waiting for her owner.

But then she discovers a note on which the animal's former owner explains that she can no longer take care of her dog Baby Girl for health reasons.

Kyle Rose Engelhardt immediately alerted the animal rescuers of the "Wisconsin Humane Society", who immediately picked up the abandoned four-legged friend and took them in.

Baby Girl is first examined by a veterinarian on the "WHS" campus and it is quickly established that the bitch has not lacked for anything in the past, that she is well socialized and also listens to commands well.

After the obligatory stray quarantine, she should then be put up for adoption.

The animal rescuers of the organization then turned to the former owner of Baby Girl in a compassionate post on Facebook.

In it they write that they very much regret the state of health of the stranger and show understanding for the difficult decision of having to part with their best friend.

They also assure her that they take good care of Baby Girl and will do everything to ensure that she finds a new loving family soon.

WHS, in their message to Baby Girl's former owner, mentions "that bag you carefully packed with all your favorite things," "the way you secured her leash so she wouldn't get hit by a car." will,” and the way the person placed the dog “in the middle of the neighborhood where she would be found quickly,” are all signs of how much the animal's last handler loved her.

Abandoned and tied up: bitch suffers from diabetes – problem for adoption?

A few days ago, the "WHS" then announced in another post that Baby Girl was put up for adoption, but at the same time informed interested parties that the dog had "potentially costly medical needs".

The "WHS" writes on Facebook: "After abnormalities during the initial examination, our veterinary team, in cooperation with a consulting clinic, found that Baby Girl suffers from diabetes mellitus (canine diabetes), which causes high blood sugar.

We have established a treatment plan for her and are pleased that she is responding well to the current treatment."

In the post, they also explain, "Your prospective adoptive dog will need to work out a plan with their veterinarian that likely includes daily blood sugar checks, a restricted diet, and home insulin injections." The organization estimates that treating the condition can be expensive, in the hundreds of dollars can cost per month.

"While diabetes can be costly and difficult to manage, we know there is a loving adopter out there for this special girl!" the organization confidently continues in its post.

Because as the "WHS" announced in a Facebook update, on the day she was released for adoption, there were several people who really wanted to get to know Baby Girl.

And they happily report: “She has officially found a new home!

Thank you, thank you, thank you!” They also mention that they are in contact with the previous owner and are happy that they were able to fulfill her wish to find a new home for baby girl.

What a nice happy ending.
