After several fires in the district of Leipzig, the police have identified four suspects.
Three of them are members of two volunteer fire brigades in the municipality of Parthenstein, according to the police in Leipzig.
Extensive evidence was confiscated during searches, which is now being evaluated.
The police and public prosecutor's office in Leipzig are conducting several investigations into suspected arson, dangerous interference with traffic and other crimes.
The series of fires began in October 2020 and affected the towns of Grethen, Großsteinberg, Klinga and Pomßen.
Among other things, a weekend house burned down in January of this year.
In addition, an approximately seven-kilometer oil trail was laid between Grimma and Großsteinberg.
The investigations against the 18 to 23-year-old suspects continued.
