Season 2 of Fortnite's third chapter is about to end.

So when is the release of Season 3 of the Battle Royale and what can fans expect from it?

Meanwhile, the battle royale has become a cultural phenomenon, nearing the end of the second season in its third chapter.

When does season 3 start?

Epic Games is apparently letting Season 2 of Fortnite run a lot shorter than the first season of Chapter 3. On June 3, 2022, the current season is scheduled to end after just under three months, while its predecessor lasted more than four months.

Epic Games has not shared an official date for the end of Season 2, but there are pretty clear indications of June 3rd in Fortnite's Battle Pass.

Immediately afterwards, on June 4, 2022, the starting signal for Season 3 should be fired.

Epic Games is still covered when it comes to information about Season 3 of Fortnite.

The developer and publisher still owes the fans the actual end date of Season 2 and there has also been no announcement of the follow-up season so far.

Still, there are already some strong guesses and clues from the game's files as to what Epic may have in mind for Fortnite's next big chapter.

For example, a leak for Fortnite update 20.40 has revealed that Obi-Wan Kenobi and Darth Vader will soon appear in the game.

Fortnite insider HYPEX also says on Twitter that the Kugler could probably come back to Fortnite with the new season.

In addition, mounts and weapon modifications should probably play a role in Season 3.

The most extensive information is already available for the live event, which is intended to form the transition from Season 2 to Season 3.

With Update 20.40 from Fortnite, a new POI (Point of Interest) has come onto the map, the "Collider".

The building is expected to play a major role in the season change live event and is already sucking water from the surrounding streams and Loot Lake.
