A serious violent incident took place tonight (Thursday-Friday) at Wolfson Hospital where a medical staff member was again attacked.
This incident is in addition to the series of incidents in the recent period that also led to a strike in hospitals yesterday.
In the current incident, a patient hit a doctor in the emergency room at Wolfson in the face and broke his glasses.
A complaint was filed with the police.

At Wolfson Hospital they have strongly condemned criminal violence against the treating staff and stressed that cases of violence will be dealt with very severely before the law enforcement authorities.
Dr. Anat Engel, Director General of Wolfson Medical Center;
"We use all the tools at our disposal to ensure that the staff who work day and night with dedication and professionalism for the patients feel protected at work. However, it is clear that the issue of violence needs to be addressed at the national level and enforcement and punishment against all those who use violence."
