(ANSA) - BERLIN, MAY 20 - The former German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder is having the decision of the Budget Commission of the German Parliament legally assessed to remove the personnel office and the assistant staff.
Schroeder would have turned to a well-known constitutionalist, according to what Spiegel reports.
Schroeder has long been criticized for his proximity to Moscow and his role in Russian state companies.
Just yesterday, a large majority of the European Parliament voted for a resolution that also aims to sanction the ex-chancellor directly.
As Bild reports, the resolution calls on European states to "extend the list of persons subject to EU sanctions to include European members of the governing bodies of major Russian companies and politicians who continue to receive money from Russia".
