Matching the new season of Stranger Things comes the book tip "The Institute" by Stephen King.

The author is not only a fan of the series, but also the inspiration for the makers: My book tip.

The master of horror and the supernatural is an inspiration to many people.

So also for the makers of the Netflix series "Stranger Things".

But Stephen King is also a big fan of the series.

Stephen King "The Institute": About the Book

This King novel is not only super exciting, it is also very emotional.

We experience the story from the point of view of Tom, the "night knocker" and Luke, an above-average intelligent and likeable boy.

In a quiet Minneapolis suburb, seedy intruders silently murder Luke Ellis' parents and dump the drugged 12-year-old into a black SUV.

The whole operation takes less than two minutes.

Luke wakes up far away in the institute, in a room that looks like his, except that it has no windows.

And the institute in Maine is home to other children who are paranormal like Luke: Kalisha, Nick, George, Iris and ten-year-old Avery.

You are in the front building of the institute.

Luke learns that others before them disappeared into the "backbone" after a series of tests.

And never returned.

As more of Luke's new friends are evacuated, his thoughts of escaping to get help become more desperate.

Blurb "The Institute" by Stephen King

We've known King's fable for the supernatural and mental abilities since the eighties.

With "Feuerkind" alone he published a grandiose story that was also filmed.

A reboot of the film from that time is currently in cinemas.

(Firestarter 2022)

The novel "The Institute" tells a gripping story about friendship, helplessness and solidarity.

Suitable not only for fans of the master himself, but also for fans of the series "Stranger Things" and science fiction fans.

Fantastic!

I'll have to revise my list of best King books after reading this.

I really sucked in the audio book, sometimes until late at night, because it was so exciting.

Bonus was, of course, David Nathan, the voice of Christian Bale, among others.

It was like Batman reading me a Stephen King book.

The story about the children in "The Institute" touched me very much.

I'm a big fan of King's expansive and detailed descriptions, which added to the mood of this novel.

I often had a big lump in my throat and heart palpitations.

The content of the story is not light fare but also not a typical horror novel.
