These are the 'words to protect' protagonists of a multimedia journey into the semantic universe of some terms linked to the culture of protection created by Area X, the experiential space dedicated to the culture of protection created by Intesa Sanpaolo Assicura, which will also be present at the Turin International Book Fair with an appointment dedicated to the importance of words in the world of the web and in real life.
The project, carried out in collaboration with Treccani, stems from a reflection on the way boys and girls communicate, in an era in which social media have the possibility of spreading images, words, emotions, experiences and anyone can become an author and spokesperson. of ideas and opinions.
'Empathy, a word to protect in today's world' is the title of the meeting, scheduled for Saturday 21 May at 10.45 in the Sala Oro, and in streaming on ansa.it or on the Area X website www.areax.info, with Laura Boella, full professor of Moral Philosophy at the University of Milan.
"The explosion of increasingly global crises - says Professor Boella - have accentuated and made almost irremediable the contrast between violence, the law of strength and vulnerability, weakness, the need for help and solidarity. Empathy does not exist outside of an encounter lived with another person and the desire to understand something of his experience, even when it is very different from ours.
