Seven days of detention of the fishing boats of the Adriatic Sea and a new state of agitation.

From 21 May the trawlers of the Marche, Abruzzo Molise and Puglia flotilla will remain in port until next Sunday following a new state of unrest declared today.

The decision came this morning, at the end of a meeting of the Italian marines gathered in the Termoli fish market.

Over 150 operators, including Adriatic shipowners and fishermen, met in the port of Termoli to discuss what to do.

"Two weeks after the requests sent to the Government, nothing has happened. There has been no response since the last meeting in Pescara - declares Paola Marinucci, President of the Molise shipowners' association -. For this reason a new stopped until next Sunday. It is not a strike but a state of agitation ".

In the city of Termoli alone there are 45 trawlers that will not go out to sea.

"We cannot continue in this way - concludes the coordinator of the Molise shipowners association -. Here we really risk closing everyone down".
