Damascus, SANA- Students of the Syrian Scientific Olympiad won two gold, silver and bronze medals in the Elvis Olympiad.

Students of the Syrian Scientific Olympiad won two gold, silver and bronze medals in the World Applied Physics Olympiad 2022, which was organized by Indonesia (remotely) at the end of last April with the participation of 20 countries.

The Excellence and Creativity Authority stated, in a statement that SANA received a copy of today, that the two gold medals were won by Jana Nael Noaman from the second grade of secondary school and Laith Haitham Al-Sheikh from the third grade of secondary school from the National Center for Excellence, while the silver medal was won by the student Rasein Sadiq Shabib from the third grade of secondary school. From the National Center for the Distinguished and the bronze medalist Ammar Raqed Masoud, from the second year of secondary school, from Shata High School, from the countryside of Hama.

The authority pointed out that the peculiarity of this Olympiad was that it was held in two phases. The first is to research a scientific issue and the participants are required to solve it and write a scientific topic about it. In the second phase, those who qualified from the first phase are asked to research a scientific issue, develop new ideas and proposals, and present the treatment of this issue through a video. Record the student's findings.

According to the Commission’s statement, the Syrian Scientific Olympiad, in this second consecutive participation, achieved significant qualitative progress, making the outcome second place after Indonesia among the participating countries from Europe, Asia and Africa, and upgrading to winning gold medals through (two gold, silver and bronze medals) after his outcome in last year’s participation was 5 Silver and Bronze Medals.
