"Wedding at First Sight": Wow, would you believe that gay couples are just as boring as straights? | Israel today

Boldness of the Century: A pair of grooms in prime time, unbelievably simple • Just a pity that the popular stereotypes and clichés are perpetuated as if we were in the 80s • But hey, at least Rinat gives a chance and the dogs get along

As the promos promised, and after four seasons of a short-lived straight relationship (okay, Vanir and Hagar), it happened yesterday: "Wedding at First Sight" The first meeting in its history (in Israel, at least) met a gay couple for a fictitious marriage for ratings purposes.

Because not only heterosexuals are allowed to fail in love on TV!

The promise of a gay couple at the wedding seems to have stretched over about three years, but in last night's episode it was fulfilled, and who would have thought the class itself would be so heavenly.

Seriously, if these were another pair of straights shooting at us for the millionth time all the clichés of "I managed to build myself a solid friends base and career and now time for love" there would be no reason to continue watching this episode, which felt quite unnecessary in the history pages of this show.

Detail of course to the trivia detail mentioned here.

So as mentioned, for the first time in my wedding we met Guy, a high-tech accountant, eighty-something meters, and in front of him Matan, a dentist (sorry, "amazing doctor" as he attests to himself), ninety meters and that's it.

Both, quite rightly, have established a successful career, but somehow fail to crack the whole issue of this relationship.

The two are also quite similar to each other, taking out of the equation the azure eyes of giving.

But anyone who has come to the episode with prejudices about proud spouses can relax and take comfort in knowing that they too, just like all the other couples in the program, are bad at choosing pre-wedding gifts.

Also, those of you who follow wedding-related items may have been exposed to the fact that Danny, the matchmaking expert and the most unreliable R-man in the history of fresh primaries, is gay himself.

And that perhaps explains why his success figures add up to one couple surviving to a real canopy and all the rest of the fiasco at varying levels.

Familiar with the bubble.

Will Danny be able to bring the groom couple to a canopy status in reality as well?

Probably not, but at least the wedding looks happy.

Danny and Matan have known each other before (who would have thought that the Tel Aviv LGBT scene is such a small egg?

Oh, and we also got a pun of "giving" and "groom."

It was definitely worth waiting four seasons for it.

Nothing and nothing.

Daniel and Rinat,

From the loneliness in the sign of pride to the nothingness that is the connection between Rinat and Daniel, who return from Sicily to Danny's couch, each with his own version of their marital status.

"How are you," the matchmaking expert asks them.

"Amazing," Daniel replies.

"All right," Rinat picks up.

They talk a little more about Rinat's dissatisfaction with Daniel's look and then decide to live together in a neutral apartment, as if that's what will save them from this premature breakup of their relationship.

Rinat has received a lot of criticism online in the past week about the way she allegedly canceled Daniel on an external appearance item.

But in the end you can also appreciate her for the sincerity, and more than that - for the way she still gives the matter a chance, and does not choose the escape tactic that Shai's myrtle built from last season, based on freezing in place and staring into the distance until the nightmare she agreed to take part in Will end.

As always, the dogs steal the show, especially the dog sausage (which is not a sausage dog, it should be noted).

Sausage, by the way, somehow becomes a "sausage" in this episode, as if semantically it changes something, since the whole essence of this lovable creature is to give affection, confidence and a desire for pastrami.

The dramatic climax of the episode takes place when Niknok and Funchi, Rinat's bitch, quarrel among themselves, but in the end they calm down and seem to get along better than their owners.

Maybe it was still worth it for Rinat and Daniel to go through a year of screenings for the program.

Were we wrong?

Fixed!
