Fourteen years ago, an old apartment was purchased in Raanana, into which a single man was planned to move.
Interior designer Shlomit Zeldman made such a cosmetic renovation for him that will allow him to move to a fresher place.
Now the landlord has turned to the designer again - this time to create a real makeover that will more accurately suit his needs and tastes.
The change was total, and was reflected in the palette of shades, materials and design of the interior spaces in the apartment.
Before the renovation the apartment looked outdated, the dark shades created a look of unventilated space and the desire was to produce openness and a fresh feeling full of air.

This is how the makeover was designed
The entrance
Upon entering the apartment we will discover the entire space - the bedroom, the kitchen and the living room.
The choice of different shades of gray for each of the spaces created a connection between them, which allowed for peace of mind and a harmonious connection between the three spaces.

The kitchen
The dark wood counter was replaced by an island covered with porcelain granite in a marble look with gray tendons.
Due to the size of the apartment, the marble serves as a work surface and also as a dining counter that forms the dining area.
The design allows optimal utilization of space and the creation of a spacious island that is conveniently used for both functions - cooking and hospitality.
The old brick wall was replaced by floor-to-ceiling kitchen cabinets in a shade of gray.
With the exception of the island in the marble look, the other elements in the kitchen remained in smooth shades of gray - the front of the refrigerator, the color of the wall and the fronts of the kitchen.

After the renovation - the kitchen was redesigned and the way it was placed in the space was designed according to the needs,
The island serves as a preparation surface as well as a dining area,
Except for the marble-looking island, the rest of the kitchen elements have remained in smooth shades of gray,
The living room
The living room was designed on a small area, but thanks to the use of monochromatic colors a feeling of a wide space was created.
Prior to the renovation, the TV was temporarily hung on a plasterboard partition with an old-fashioned look.
During the renovation, the designer created an interior partition with a clean and refined look, on which a flat, wall-mounted TV screen was hung, which had not yet been cleaned.
The selected decorative items also adhered to the color palette.
It can be noticed that the motifs themselves also create delicacy and ventilation - a lake image, white clay pots with vegetation that forms green dots in the space and more.

In order to keep the look as flowing and open as possible, the bedroom was designed with a transparent glass door that allows a view from the kitchen.
This is an adjustment made by the designer to the personal situation of the landlord.
When it comes to a house with the lively movement of additional tenants, the bedroom is a place of refuge and solitude, in which case it is advisable not to choose a glass door.
Here the landlord enjoys a quiet space, so can afford to choose a transparent door.
The bedroom and living room are located on the same plane.
The designer chose the same curtain and the same wall shade for the two spaces, creating a lasting look that connects the spaces visually subtly.
The set of curtains chosen has a degree of transparency that also contributes to the appearance of the fan.
A curtain with a certain degree of transparency manages to maintain privacy in the interior space, and at the same time allows daylight to penetrate the fabric, which is a kind of filter and refines the intensity of the light that penetrates through it.
A small designed storage room is the closet, which can maintain a ventilated and spacious sleeping space.

Minimalist lighting fixtures and fittings maintain the design line,
The bathroom space
Although the bathroom is behind an airtight door, it matches the palette of shades and materials that characterize the entire apartment.
The designer enters the gray cladding and flooring with wooden items that warm the look, and balance the coolness that emerges from the gray tones.
Prior to the renovation the dryer and washing machine stood inside the bathroom and reduced it significantly.
During the renovation, the designer created a niche before entering the bathroom, where the dryer and washing machine were located.
In this way the design quiet and spacious appearance were maintained.
Wooden items warm the look and balance the coolness that emerges from the gray tones,
