"Cami was created to prove that cyberspace is not inclusive, and there is also room for different representation," it said.

"It was created so that people with disabilities would have a character who would be a role model and a source of pride for them."

The word "cami" is perfect and that's how we want it to look.

"Being a virtual figure whose name represents wholeness, Cami will be a powerful voice for the fact that Down Syndrome is not a defect or a mistake, and there is no need to correct it," they emphasized.

Camus was created after an intensive research project that included 100 volunteers with Down Syndrome who took part in shaping her character, which was based on their appearance, character traits, voices and body gestures.

The digital world is not a comprehensive space, "said a video that introduced Cami to her followers on the Instagram page opened for her." Everyone looks polished and perfect, but the change is coming.
