Players tend to reveal a certain amount of their lives when they promote various projects they are working on.

It could be some amusing story, maybe something to do with family life or even a big secret.

In recent years the exposure has even intensified, thanks to the great popularity of social networks, where many tend to present parts of their personal lives - from the smallest nonsense to exciting events.

But long before the shares and likes of Facebook and Instagram, those exposures were usually made in interviews.

The stars knew that if they got a good headline, they might get more exposure - thus increasing their status.

Whoever was part of this "game" is Val Kilmer, an actor whose fame is behind him, but the roles he performed in many successful films (including "Love in the Sky", "The Doors", "Batman Forever" and "Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang") left Their seal.

Note that he will also be appearing in a guest appearance on "Love in the Sky 2" which is coming up soon in theaters.

Masters his own story.

"Val",

Kilmer loved to photograph his surroundings from an early stage of his life, decades before anyone took his cell phone and took selfies in a random location and with a deep sentence for life.

In the new documentary about him, which is simply called "Val" and will be broadcast tonight (Sunday) on yes and yesVOD, he reveals to viewers from these footage what he went through during the filming, and even shows viewers for the first time what his life looks like today, after his voice was destroyed. Radiation and chemotherapy treatments he had to undergo in his fight against throat cancer in which he contracted (and which he won).

Hours upon hours of raw material were packaged into one product by directors Leo Scott and Ting Fu, who in less than two hours managed to create a coherent film from start to finish.

Most of it is presented in chronological order, but from time to time we jump into the present, where Kilmer is revealed as having no fear of presenting himself as someone whose health is no longer as it once was.

At 62, Val Kilmer is no longer really the star he used to be, nor does he participate as often in high-profile films, but he is for one moment not afraid to present the whole thing, as he is.

He looks at his career in retrospect, shares amusing moments with beginning stars (like Sean Penn, Tim Robbins and Kevin Bacon), barely working with Hollywood legends (such as Marlon Brando) or just presents random moments in the life of a big star - and it's hard not to feel compassion for Kilmar.

but he?

He does not seek mercy, he does not wait for applause for the "courage" in his exposure.

He just wants to share with viewers his life, that they might understand him a little more.

He shows them his story from the angle he knows best - this is his own.

"Val" is not the first documentary to follow a familiar character, but it is certainly one of the most personal.

There is no drop of shame or shyness here.

The film provides a "yellow" for those looking for another dose of gossip about Hollywood, but mostly shows a man whose days of great fame are far behind him.

Just like the star he is following, "Val" has a huge heart - and it is impossible not to rejoice in front of him.
