The microwave is not only ideal for quickly heating up ready meals.

The practical kitchen appliance can do many more tricks.

Juicing 1/10 lemons: If you warm the lemon for 20 seconds before squeezing it, it will give more juice.

4 / 10Need to soak dried beans or lentils all night?

Who has time for that?

If you have a microwave, this only takes about an hour: Place the legumes in a bowl with the baking soda and cover with water.

Then put them in the microwave and let the appliance run on the highest setting for 10 minutes.

Then let the beans soak for about 30 to 40 minutes and they're done.

5 / 10You can dry parsley and other herbs extremely quickly and keep them for a long time.

Simply place a handful of herbs on kitchen paper and place in the microwave.

Then let the device run at full power for between two and four minutes.

The moisture from the herbs evaporates and you can simply crumble them in the kitchen paper and decant them.

6/10Cut Onions: Cut off the ends of the onion, then microwave on full watts for 30 seconds.

Then wait two minutes and cut.

7 / 10If you want to cook thick-skinned vegetables, such as tomatoes, aubergines, etc., in the microwave, you should pierce the skin a few times with a fork beforehand, otherwise it will burst.

8/10Lightning Fast Scrambled Eggs: Crack the egg into a mug, whisk thoroughly with a dash of milk, then microwave on full watts for about 1 to 1.5 minutes.

9 / 10second milk froth: Pour milk into a sealable and microwave-safe container.

Shake the milk for 30 seconds until foam forms, then microwave for 30 seconds.

The foam will set and you can skim it off.

Save 10 / 10chips and flips: With the microwave you can conjure up crispy chips from the day before.

Simply place on kitchen paper and heat for ten seconds.
