The leader of the legendary British rock group specifies that he appreciates Harry Styles.
"We have an easy relationship,"
he said, while qualifying the resemblance attributed to them.
“He doesn't have a voice like mine or move on stage like me,
judge Mike Jagger
.
He just has a superficial resemblance to myself younger, which is fine – he can't help it."
Androgyny and sequins
With his varnished nails, his mascara and his stage outfits as in the city, Harry Styles plays on the codes of masculinity, as Mick Jagger was able to do in his time.
Of the lead singers of the Stones, Truman Capote wrote that he was
“one of those beings who possesses an androgynous dimension”
.
“I used makeup on my eyes a lot more than him
,” explains the Stones frontman.
Harry Styles, for his part, plays on the game of resemblances by adopting outfits resolutely inspired by another era: satiny, colored, sequined, high-cut shirts sometimes completed with suspenders on "eph's" pants.
The artist, revealed in the show
X Factor
in 2010 during the creation of the boy band One Direction, even sometimes indulges in more or less convincing imitations of Mick Jagger, as in 2017, in an episode of
Saturday Night Live.
In 2016, rumors also had it that the 28-year-old British singer was approached to play his eldest in a biopic about the Rolling Stones, but the project never saw the light of day.
In the meantime, the pop phenomenon has just released its new album,
Harry's house
.
“The most free-spirited music I've ever produced,”
describes the artist.
