Beer as fertilizer for the lawn?
Sounds unusual, but it actually promotes lawn growth.
However, you should definitely avoid drinking fresh beer.
After a garden party or a happy evening with friends, there is usually one or two leftovers in the beer bottle.
Instead of carelessly pouring the beer residue down the drain, they should rather collect the remains of the hop drink and spread it on their lawn.
In the following we will tell you exactly why and how it works.

Not only coffee grounds have proven themselves in the garden as a natural fertilizer for the lawn and other plants.
Beer is also said to be really good for the lawn and promote its growth.
No wonder, after all, the favorite drink of the Germans contains a lot of valuable nutrients such as
potassium, magnesium, calcium or phosphorus
, which are also contained in conventional plant fertilizers.
Beer leftovers are so wonderfully suitable as an inexpensive universal fertilizer for your garden.
But only if you use the beer correctly - and never use fresh beer.
Use beer as lawn fertilizer – this is how it's done:
In order for beer to prove itself as a valuable fertilizer for your garden, there are a few important steps you should follow:
Never use fresh beer, but leave the
beer leftovers for at least two to three days
.
This allows the carbon dioxide contained in it to escape.
Too much of it damages the plant roots.
Mix the collected beer
with water in a 1:2 ratio
before giving it to your plants.
Now distribute the natural lawn fertilizer with a garden sprayer on your lawn.
Yellow and brown spots in particular will benefit from this simple home remedy and grow vigorously again.
Other green plants in your garden also thrive with the beer fertilizer - flowering plants less so.
Does alcohol harm plants?
Alcohol can be harmful not only to humans, but also to plant cells.
Therefore, you should not overdo it with the beer fertilizer.
Therefore, always dilute the hop drink in the specified ratio and apply the mixture
to your lawn no more than
once or twice a month .
