(ANSA) - ROME, MAY 23 - Vadim Shishimarin, 21, was found guilty in the first trial in Kiev for war crimes and was sentenced to life in prison for killing an unarmed civilian a few days after the start of the Russian invasion.
The BBC announces it.
The Kyiv court, Ukrainian media explain, found evidence against Shishimarin and concluded that the murder was premeditated.
The court rejected the defense arguments that the soldier carried out the order because it was given by another soldier.
The court also does not consider the accused's remorse to be sincere.
