An angler was seriously injured by electric shock in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.
As a police spokesman said, the 48-year-old came into contact with an overhead line at a fishing pond in Dabel on Sunday evening.
According to the information, the man had a seven-meter-long carbon fishing rod with which he had come against the power line.
The man suffered electric shocks and burns to his arms and legs.
Other anglers called the emergency services.
The man was taken to a special clinic in Lübeck.
The person concerned from Saxony-Anhalt was with his son at the fishing pond and, according to the police, had handled the rod from the country.
The power line led visibly across the private fishing pond.
