This is the drink you must not drink at McDonald's (TikTok / @mightyshelf)

A meal at McDonald's is incomplete without a cold and refreshing drink.

However, there is one drink on the menu that a former employee advised diners to stay away from - after finding out how to prepare it.

Do not worry, this drink is not served in the chain's branches in Israel so this recommendation is only valid on your trips abroad and especially in the United States. Nicole Weiser, former director of the McDonald's branch in the USA, shared her "inside information" in a ticketing video that went viral.

"I was a manager at McDonald's," Weiser explained, "I worked there for about three years."

At the time, she says, the branch had two 15-liter iced tea containers: one red for sweet tea and one green for unsweetened tea.

Until Laser learned how to make McDonald's sweet tea, she would treat herself to a cup of sweet tea at every meal.

But one day she learned the painful truth: "In all four gallons of the red container, the sweet tea, they added a bag of sugar weighing four pounds (almost 2 kilograms). One pound per gallon of tea," Weiser said in the video, "I stopped drinking the tea after understanding the That's it. It's disgusting. "

The SUN asked McDonald's to provide nutritional information and details of the ingredients of the drink offered in the menu, but they did not respond.

In the responses, viewers expressed anxiety about the amount of sugar in the drink - and others were indifferent to the caloric and nutritional load.

"There is a difference between drinking a sugary drink knowing how to understand how much sugar there really is in it," one reporter and another added: "After I learned that there are nine teaspoons of sugar in her voice, I only drink water."

A former fast food chain worker reinforced the data Weiser provided: "I worked there in my youth and when I was taught to make sweet tea - I suffocated."

Another added: "Just be sure to drink water. I drink a non-water drink maybe twice a month - if at all."

Others were surprised that Nicole Weisel had just discovered the "recipe".

"She did not taste how sweet this drink was before she found out how much sugar it contains? It does not surprise me," one wrote and another added: "I like sweet tea. It's like the tea my grandmother used to make for meals on Sundays."

Another agreed with him: "Sweet just like we make."

Another viewer suggested to the drink lovers not to give up the tea and just ask them to mix in a glass half of the sweet tea and half of the unsweetened tea.
