The organizers of the reading competition want to increase the excitement with a points system for determining the Bachmann Prize.
According to the presentation of the 14 participants from Germany, Austria and Switzerland, the members of the jury would award one to nine points after the readings.
The General Counsel will add up the points and determine the winners of the various awards, starting with the less lucrative awards.
In the case of a tie, the jury votes.
At the previous days of German-language literature, each juror had only one vote in the deciding round and the award ceremony began with the main prize.
The reading competition in Klagenfurt will take place from June 23rd to 25th.
The main prize, worth 25,000 euros, will be awarded on June 26 and is considered one of the most important awards in German-language literature.

There are five female and nine male authors in the starting field.
