Police operation at the fair in Lüdenscheid (05/22/2022): Suspect arrested

In the case of the deadly shot at the fair in Lüdenscheid, a young person was taken into custody on strong suspicion of intentional manslaughter.
The suspect resides in Lüdenscheid, the Hagen public prosecutor announced.
Authorities did not provide information on the suspect's age.
The teenager was arrested on Monday evening with the help of special forces in Lüdenscheid.
The apartment was also searched when he was arrested.
Further details were not initially known.

At the fair in Lüdenscheid, North Rhine-Westphalia, there was apparently a "physical altercation" between a 16-year-old and a group on Saturday evening.
When the teenager and his 52-year-old father wanted to confront the group, prosecutors said they fled to a residential area.
According to the information, two people from the group fired shots from a blank gun and a live firearm during the escape.
The apparently uninvolved 40-year-old from Gummersbach was fatally hit.
Group members should be between the ages of 16 and 20.
The fair will continue despite the death.
It should last until May 29th.
According to the organizer, the security staff was strengthened after the incident.
