(ANSA) - ROME, MAY 24 - The Russian dissident Alexei Navalny has lost his appeal: the Russian justice has in fact confirmed his sentence to nine years of imprisonment.
"A madman has put his claws on Ukraine and I don't know what he wants to do, this mad thief," said the Russian opponent, lashing out directly at President Vladimir Putin, during a video link from the penal colony where he is being held with the courtroom where the decision to dismiss his appeal was expressed.
"This is a stupid war that your Putin has started - said Navalny -. It is a war built on lies," he added.
"What do you want to achieve? You want control in the short term, fight with the future generations, fight for the future of Russia?
