Pedophilia: Bassetti, CEI will deepen knowledge of the phenomenon

(ANSA) - ROME, MAY 24 - "We confirm our commitment to the protection of minors and the prevention of abuse. We want safe and suitable environments for the smallest and most vulnerable. For this reason, as already stated on other occasions, we intend to promote a better knowledge of the phenomenon of abuses to evaluate and make the protection and prevention measures more effective ".

    The archbishop of Perugia-Città della Pieve, with today's speech, takes leave of the leadership of the bishops.

The assembly is called to vote for a trio of names from which Pope Francesc will choose the new president of the Italian Episcopal Conference.
