Italy is doing very well in terms of recycling of packaging waste with 73% recycling in 2020 against a European demand of 65% by 2025. However, there is a large gap between the north and the south.
In fact, in the south there are many waste facilities and more than 2.1 billion euros are needed to create them.
But now there is a project that arises from the collaboration of Conai, the national packaging consortium with Anci, the national association of Italian municipalities that aims to fill this gap.
