The burger, now present in Italy in everyday life thanks to a growing search for new inspirations and flavors to be mixed by Italians, is offered with classic recipes such as bacon cheese burger, chicken burger or traditional burger, but also in a gourmet and veg burger version. , ranging from plant based to legumes and cereals.
There is no shortage of proposals that include swordfish, smoked salmon or octopus, as reported by the food delivery Deliveroo.
A trend that is confirmed in a survey by HelloFresh (home recipe box service) posted on YouGov Italy with which it emerges that 47% of Italians have learned to consider the burger a gourmet dish thanks also to the incredible variety of versions in which can be declined.
The burger is also considered by 2 out of 3 Italians to be a balanced dish from a nutritional point of view, "as long as the ingredients used in its preparation are carefully calibrated".
Among the most popular ingredients, according to research, cheese tops the list with 69% followed by fresh salad (chosen by 64%) and sauces (preferred by 63% and very popular especially for those under 44 years old. ).
Among the must-haves, tomatoes stand out (55%).
In the special Deliveroo ranking of the Burger Lovers cities that most love to order at home, Teramo is in the lead, followed by second place by Ostia (Rome) and Acilia (Rome), third.
