(ANSA) - ROME, MAY 25 - "The war in Ukraine can generate other wars for what can happen on the markets from a food and energy point of view".
This was stated by the Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio speaking today at the second Coldiretti Food Education Festival.
Food insecurity after the pandemic has already affected another 100 million people in the world, and to this, Di Maio stressed, is added the conflict in Ukraine with the blocking of grain exports.
"In some African countries - he added - the diet is strictly dependent on bread and food instability is causing political instability".
