Since 2008, the winning artist or artists in the Eurovision Song Contest have been awarded a trophy, a glass microphone designed by Swedish designer Kjell Engman.

When the Kalush Orchestra was voted the winner of the ESC 2022 by the TV audience on May 15 in Turin with 192 jury votes and 439 points, the Ukrainian musicians received the prize.

But now they want to use the trophy for the financial benefit of the Ukrainian troops.

As the band announced on Instagram, their price is up for auction.

The minimum bid is five euros.

The band intends to donate all the money raised to the Serhiy Prytula Foundation, which is committed to equipping the Ukrainian army.

The bidders could thus "help Ukraine with its victory symbol to another great victory for Ukraine," according to social media.

The winner's trophy therefore goes to the highest bidder.

At the same time, according to the Instagram posting, the pink fishing hat, a trademark of Oleh Psiuk, the frontman of the Kalush Orchestra, will also be raffled among all bidders.

The higher the sum wagered, the greater the chances of being saved, they say.

Kalush Orchestra won the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 in mid-May. The band was clearly ahead, especially in the audience ratings, which was understood as a clear political signal and sign of solidarity against the background of the Ukraine conflict.

Russia had been excluded from the ESC because of the war.

The appearance of the band Kalush Orchestra at the ESC this year was clearly influenced by the war of aggression against Ukraine.

The official music video for her song "Stefania" shows the traces of the last few months, from various suburbs of Kyiv: fields of rubble and bombed-out high-rise buildings.

Already at the end of their performance, the band called for support for Ukraine.

After her victory, she announced that she would not celebrate until after the war.
