Two old weapons are back in Fortnite from the vault.
The Railgun and Recon Scanner return to Battle Royale for next week.
Cary, North Carolina – It's time for a little rotation in Fortnite's arsenal again.
Epic Games regularly exchanges the weapons to be found in the Battle Royale.
Sometimes a few of them disappear into the vault for several months, other times the studio brings long-lost fan favorites back from retirement.
Now through May 31st, two new legacy weapons are back in the game, namely the Railgun and the Recon Scanner.
As reported by IPPEN.MEDIA ingame.de, there are also a few new quests that fans can use to secure experience points.

Fortnite: Railgun and Recon Scanner - Scan and laser your way to victory
This is how the weapons work:
For snipers with a good aim, the railgun should become the best friend in Fortnite in the coming week.
The high-powered cannon can deal devastating damage and knock enemies out of the game with a single shot on headshots, similar to a bug newly discovered in Fortnite.
It just takes a little patience for efficient use as the railgun takes a few seconds to charge up its shot.
It becomes a high-risk but equally high-reward rifle.

The other new gun that's back in Fortnite, on the other hand, isn't just for damage.
The Recon Scanner may look and function like a grenade launcher, but it's far from deadly.
The grenades fired by the Recon Scanner can mark and visualize enemies within the blast radius, which can bring extreme advantages in one-on-one combat.
Fortnite: Railgun and Recon Scanner - New quests for extra experience points
These are the quests:
Like Fortnite's Kippwelt weapons, which made a limited return last week, there are also new quests for the Railgun and the Recon Scanner.
These new tasks for the two guns are all about using them as much as possible in the game.
In other words: the tasks of the Railgun are aimed at dishing out as much damage as possible, while the Recon Scanner wants to be used for a lot of reconnaissance work.
In a few tasks, however, both weapons must be used in tandem.
The quests for Railgun and Recon Scanner at a glance:
Deal 500/2500/10000 damage with the Rail Gun
Tag 5/25/100 enemies with the Recon Scanner
Get a headshot with the Rail Gun
Deal 500 damage from at least 50 yards away with the Rail Gun
Deal 500 damage to enemies you scanned within 30 seconds before
Hit an enemy with a Recon Scanner grenade
Collect a Recon Scanner and a Rail Gun in the same match
This is the easiest way to solve the quests:
The most important thing about the tasks of the new weapons in Fortnite is that you have to find them on the map at all.
Both Kniften are relatively rare, but appear both as ground loot and in treasure chests.
Points of interest with a high density of boxes are therefore ideal.
After that, the Railgun and Recon Scanner only need to be used for the things they're made for.

However, the Railgun headshot and 50m damage tasks can be a bit tricky due to the rifle's loading phase.
The easiest, if somewhat tedious, way to complete these quests would be to target unsuspecting enemies and campers from as hidden a position as possible.
But even without Abstauber, the quests should be relatively easy to complete, provided you find and use the two guns as often as possible.
