The musician Herbert Grönemeyer has canceled his anniversary tour "20 Years of Man" due to a corona infection.
Eight performances were planned, as the artist management DBE announced on Wednesday.
The start should take place on Thursday in Hanover.
"Unfortunately, the virus has unfortunately also infected employees, band members and Herbert," it said.
The performances in Hanover, Gelsenkirchen, Berlin, Leipzig, Hamburg and Munich will be canceled without replacement.
Purchased tickets can be returned at the pre-sale points.
"Despite all precautionary measures, we were not spared from the virus," said the statement from the artist management.
Everyone is deeply disappointed, "we are very, very sorry, especially for all the people who wanted to come and for all the trouble it causes."
The infections are “extremely bitter and devastating after more than two years of the strictest isolation and endurance tests during the rehearsals”.
According to the situation, Grönemeyer and his crew are going awry, a mixture of sadness, anger and a virus.”
The musician's next tour is planned for May 2023 in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
So far eleven concerts are on the schedule: in Kiel, Hamburg, Dortmund, Berlin, Hanover, Vienna, Munich, Cologne, Mannheim, Stuttgart and Zurich.
