Covid: Gimbe, net decline in infections, almost -30% in 7 days

In the last week, a sharp decline in infections (-29.6%), intensive care (-13.9%), ordinary hospitalizations (-16.2%) and deaths (-17%). These are the data of the last independent monitoring of the Gimbe Foundation for the period 18-24 May. (HANDLE)


(ANSA) - ROME, MAY 26 - In the last week a net decrease in infections (-29.6%), intensive care (-13.9%), ordinary hospitalizations (-16.2%) and deaths (-17%) .

These are the data of the last independent monitoring of the Gimbe Foundation for the period 18-24 May.

In particular, compared to the previous 7 days, new weekly cases amounted to 171,737 against 243,932; a decrease in deaths (633 against 763).

There was also a marked decline in cases currently positive (811.720 against 967.401), people in home isolation (805.173 against 959.599), hospitalizations with symptoms (6.257 against 7.465) and intensive care (290 against 337).


   According to data from Gimbe then, in a month the people discovered double with the third dose reaching over 4 million.


   For the fourth dose, administrations are curbed with a coverage of 30.5% for the immunocompromised and 14% for the other frail.

In particular, 4.06 million people can immediately receive the third dose equal to 8.5% of the audience connects regional differences: from 4.8% in Abruzzo to 12.6% in Sicily;

4.1 million cannot receive it immediately as they have been healed for less than 120 days, equal to 8.6% of the platea.
