It was the Galerie VU which announced, on this side of the Pyrenees, the disappearance of Bárbara Allende Gil de Biedma, better known by her artist name, Ouka Leele, an artist name as eccentric as the Movida of which she was “the” photographer.

Born in 1957, at the same time photographer, painter, poet, director, Ouka Leele was

“an emblematic figure of the Spanish photographic scene, a direct actress of the Madrid Movida by her explosive creativity, her poetry, her generosity and her fantasy”
